Choral Concert by "Resurrection Male Ensemble"

Experience the Resurrection Male Ensemble Concert!

Sunday, July 19, 2026, 7 PM-7:50 PM

“From the Sacred Depths”, a spiritual journey into the orthodox music.

In their inaugural concert, the Resurrection Male Ensemble will take you on a spiritual journey into the sacred depths of the orthodox faith. Known for its rich and luscious chords, Orthodox music is rarely performed to its fullest in the United States because of the lack of oktavists in America (basses who can sing lower than Bb1 with resonance). But in this concert, you will be able to experience 3 of America's finest oktavists: Noah Jackson, Ben Lin, and Alexander Mayang (XanderTheOktavist). Directed by Don del Barrio and Ethan Schneider, you will hear works by Chesnokov, Golonovav, Shemeretov, as well as modern compositions using Orthodox text by Alexander Mayang.

This choral concert by “Resurrection Male Ensemble” will feature music from Russian Orthodoxy. Be transported into a spiritual experience of lush chords and deep bass notes.

The concert will take place in the Gothic Corridor of the Hall of Crucifixion-Resurrection at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park in Glendale.

The event is free but reservations are required and seating is limited.
