In Bloom: Flowers in Contemporary Art

In Bloom: Flowers in Contemporary Art

September 20, 2025-February 15, 2026

"In Bloom: Flowers in Contemporary Art” premieres at Forest Lawn Museum on September 20, 2025. While artists have been depicting flowers for thousands of years, this exhibition explores a range of contemporary artistic approaches to the subject. Featuring paintings, sculptures, installations, and video, the artworks vary dramatically, from naturalistic to abstract, and from playful to contemplative.

Special Event

Join Forest Lawn Museum for a special event to celebrate the final weekend of “In Bloom: Flowers in Contemporary Art.” The event will occur on February 14, from 11 AM-1:30 PM. There will be a flower sale with artists DABSMYLA and Amelia Posada of Birch and Bone in the museum galleries, where visitors can purchase original ceramic flowers. Musicians from OSO (One Sound Object) will be performing live in the Gothic Corridor next to the museum. This performance is part of Kim Schoen’s work Oracles, which is on view at Forest Lawn Museum. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. No RSVP required.

If you have questions, please email museum@forestlawn.com or call 323-340-4782.
